Corunna Solar Project

Project Summary

The Corunna Solar Project is 13 megawatt (MW) non-rooftop solar project located in the Township of St. Clair, Ontario. The proposed Site, consisting of solar panel arrays and associated equipment, will be on private property owned by Pembina Pipeline Corporation. The Site is proposed to be located on both sides of Highway 40 between La Salle Line and Petrolia Line. The Connection Line is proposed to be located adjacent to portions of La Salle Line and Scott Rd.

The Corunna Solar Project is being developed by Corunna Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of BluEarth, in response to the Government of Ontario’s Large Renewable Procurement Request for Proposals initiative and upon being awarded a contract and receiving all approvals, would be constructed in 2017 and become operational in 2018.

BluEarth is committed to consulting with and involving stakeholders in the decision-making process for proposed facilities. We believe that trust is the foundation for long-term successful relationships, and we know that trust is only earned over time, by working together with honest and transparent communications. BluEarth has started consulting with area stakeholders and hosted a public open house on July 15, 2015. Two additional open houses were held in August 2015 for those that were unable to attend the July information session.

Corunna Solar Project: September 2015 Project Update

By | Corunna Project Updates | No Comments

BluEarth decided not to submit the Corunna Solar Project into the  Large Renewable Procurement (LRP) 1 Request for Proposals. After careful analysis, we have decided that the Corunna Solar Project would benefit from additional design refinements before it is submitted to the Independent Electric System Operator for consideration as part of the LRP process.  It is our intention to submit the project as a very strong bid in the LRP II process in 2016.

We continue to believe that it represents an excellent opportunity for multiple land uses at the Corunna Terminal. We appreciate the support shown by the Township of St. Clair as we move forward.
