Calgary, Alberta (June 13, 2011): BluEarth Renewables Inc. (BluEarth) today announced the addition of Rob Guzzwell to their team in the role of Director, Operations.

Rob is an electrical engineer with over 12 years of experience in the energy sector. Rob has successfully managed the development, construction, and operation of over 220 MW of hydroelectric projects across Canada. Rob also has a strong background in electricity transmission and distribution systems as a result of several years of experience with an electrical utility.

The role of Director, Operations is a result of BluEarth’s continued execution of its growth strategy, including its recent acquisition of an interest in ACH Limited Partnership (ACH). ACH owns eight operating hydroelectric facilities with 131 MW of capacity in Ontario.

“The acquisition of operating assets early on was a deliberate and key step in BluEarth’s strategic growth strategy,” said Kent Brown, President & CEO of BluEarth. “Rob will initially focus on working with ACH’s management team to optimize the operations of our new Ontario assets, and his experience and leadership abilities will be key as BluEarth continues to execute on our growth strategy. We are very happy to have Rob join our great team.”

With the completion of the ACH acquisition, BluEarth now turns its focus to the acquisition of development projects. BluEarth’s strong financial backing coupled with the most experienced renewable energy development team in Canada gives it a unique advantage to help advance renewable projects that may be stuck, lacking financing or experienced management.
