AUC Amendment Filing

Design changes to the Bull Creek Wind Project were recently brought forward to the community and other stakeholders to optimize the project design, mitigate against potential interconnection delays and align the project with the power purchase agreements that are in place. A summary of these changes is provided below:

  • Change of wind turbine model from GE 2.5-103 to GE 1.7-103
  • Reduction in the overall number of wind turbines from 46, to up to 17
  • Reduction in total installed capacity from 115 MW to up to 29.2 MW
  • Interconnection to the local electrical distribution system rather than the electrical transmission system

BluEarth decided to move forward with the changes and filed an amendment with the Alberta Utilities Commission on November 18, 2014. To view the amendment application, visit AUC.ab.ca. As always, we are available if you have any questions or comments at 1-844-214-2578 or BullCreekWind@bluearth.ca.

Newsletter

The Bull Creek Wind Project newsletter was mailed to project stakeholders in November. The newsletter provides a project update, as well as some information on the recent Health Canada study on health impacts of wind turbine noise.
